We have now released Frontier and First Encounters as shareware. There is a £5 registration fee which applies if you continue to play either game for more than 30 days. We strongly recommend reading the readme.txt file included with each game before playing.

Patches

These are the original version 1.06 patches for First Encounters. These are for people who have an old version of First Encounters - they are not needed for the shareware version. To install the patch, download the appropriate file, unzip it to its own directory, then run install.exe and specify the directory where First Encounters is installed. If you encounter difficulties running the install program, you may wish to try running it in pure DOS mode (Restart in MS-DOS Mode from the shutdown menu).
